Monday, 17.05.2021:

This second week of the Stockholm project started in a special way, as the whole week takes place in the countries of origin with occasional video meetings via a software called TEAMS. The first morning meeting started at 9 a.m. and the students introduced themselves again. Then Jonas introduced us to the work program for the week by answering various questions. After studying the production drawings, the trainees began cutting the materials.

LTTA 12 Students programs:

In the morning all groups of the European vocational schools started working on their projects again. The production of the boards and legs for the laptop table was a very demanding task for all trainees in their third year of training. The students used all the machines in the five schools in the joinery, especially the CNC machine that was later used to mill the shape for the wall cladding. The groups also decided to build some laptop tables for themselves and the school.

Wednesday, 19.05.2021:

On Wednesday morning we continued working in the various workshops. Likewise, the wood and MDF panels for the wall cladding were formatted to be placed on the CNC machine to make grooves and folds in the front. They also had to make the hanging structure for the wall. At 2 p.m. there was another MS team meeting where the students could see the different processes of the five schools. The designers gave some tips on material and color and were intrigued by the progress made by all the groups.

On Thursday morning, the groups continued working on the machines. Some teams have had the cabinet pressed with different printing techniques or with a veneer press. Then you have to grind the edges and check whether the dimensions are correct. The CNC programming of the trainees was checked by the teachers so that no machine collisions could occur.

On Friday morning, each country presented its furniture and explained the various functionalities that they had to integrate. Arek and Lauri found that they worked very well and that the various pieces of furniture were really well designed and produced. Then each student could do the evaluation for the week. And at 1:00 p.m. everyone left the project.

Acquired skills for students:

The students were able to experience the European orientation of the furniture construction project and were ready and able to use and improve their English skills. They got to know the different perspectives of the apprentices from other countries and were ready to present and question their design and manufacturing skills. With the moderating support of the teacher, they were able to significantly improve their skills in the design of interior situations. In the evaluation they expressly expressed their wish to be able to repeat such an Erasmusplus project in the future.
